Several neurotechnology industry pioneers will be part of the program at the 2010 Neurotech Leaders Forum , to be held in San Francisco, CA September 23-24. Reese Terry, cofounder of Cyberonics Inc. and CEO of neurotech startup Trifectas Medical, will keynote the tenth annual event on September 24. Elliot Krames, former president of the International Neuromodulation Society and past editor of the journal Neuromodulation , will highlight the program on September 23 with his talk on “The Future of Neuromodulation.”
Other key industry figures on the program include Chris Chavez, president of St. Jude Medical Neuromodulation, Nader Kameli, former head of Victohom’s Neurobionix unit, and Dominique Durand, professor of biomedical engineering and neurosciences at Case Western Reserve University and founding editor of the Journal of Neural Engineering . Venture capital professionals on the agenda include Albert Cha from Vivo Ventures, Kevin Wasserstein from Versant Ventures, Manuel Lopez-Figueroa from Bay City Capital, and Rob Abrams from Sanderling Ventures.
CEOs of several neurotechnology startup firms will make presentations during an Entrepreneur Panel that includes Lynn Elliott of Spinal Modulation, Garth Boyd of Medical Interconnect, and Steven Stupp from Trigeminal Solutions.
