January 31, 2026 | Manufacturers of neurotechnology systems often look to a network of suppliers of components and engineering services to get their products to market faster and more economically. These supplier firms offer critical components such as batteries, housings, leads, and interconnects.
Recently, several firms in this area made announcements or joined forces in an effort to attract more customers from the neurotech industry.
Earlier this month, Resonetics announced that it signed an agreement to acquire Resolution Medical, a provider of integrated design and manufacturing solutions for complex medical devices. Resolution Medical is headquartered in Fridley, MN, with additional operations in the Netherlands, and is currently owned by Arcline Investment Management.
The transaction adds complementary capabilities in high-growth therapeutic markets, including neuromodulation, structural heart, and interventional cardiology to current Resonetics offerings. The acquisition is expected to close in 2026, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Backed by funds managed by global investment firm Carlyle and leading private equity firm GTCR, Resonetics provides end-to-end product development and manufacturing services, from prototyping through high-volume production. The addition of Resolution Medical enhances Resonetics’ ability to support customers with increasingly complex devices across the full product lifecycle.
Also this month, Ilika, the U.K. supplier of solid state battery technology, announced it has secured its first revenue-generating purchase order from Cirtec Medical for the supply of Stereax electrodes, marking the commercial transition of this strategic partnership. This milestone order for the critical conductive elements that enable battery functionality follows two years of development work and successful prototype delivery last month.
The Stereax electrodes will support the ramp up of Stereax M300 production at Cirtec, targeting a wide range of applications across active implantable medical devices, including powering implanted sensors, neurostimulators, orthopaedic implants, orthodontic wearables and ophthalmology devices. This purchase represents Ilika’s entry into the commercial phase of its medical device battery technology.
Late last year, European engineering firm Cicor signed an agreement to acquire two production sites from the Western Switzerland electronics supplier Valtronic. This move will strengthen Cicor’s medical technology business, secure a strategic location in the U.S. and enable a much-needed expansion of capacity in Morocco.
Valtronic has more than 40 years of experience in the development, industrialization and manufacture of innovative medical and diagnostic devices, including active implants. In addition to its headquarters in Switzerland, Valtronic operates production facilities in Morocco and Cleveland, OH, which specialize in the production of medical technology products.
As a result of the transaction, the Cicor Group will grow by around 220 employees and generate additional revenue of at least CHF 20 million, which could roughly double thanks to important new customers in the U.S. business.
At the recent NANS show in Las Vegas, Integer showcased its latest advancements in neuromodulation and next-generation miniaturized active implantable medical devices. These innovations are designed to accelerate development timelines and reduce risk for medical device companies bringing novel therapies to market. “Miniaturization is transforming the future of implantable technologies, and we’re proud to partner with customers to make that future a reality,” said Jim Stephens, president, cardiac rhythm management & neuromodulation. Other suppliers with prominent booths at the show included Cirtec, COFORCE Medical, Focus, Heraeus Medevio, IRIS Biomedical, Microdul, Neo-Bionica, Osypka, Resonant Link, SCT Ceramics, TTP, and Velentium.
At the 2025 Neurotech Leaders Forum in San Francisco, representatives of Cirtec, Velentium, imec, and MST participated in a panel discussion with the title, “It Takes a Village: Neurotech Industry Looks to Outside Help.” MST senior director of sales and marketing Rob Crawford described the firm’s capabilities in advanced assembly and manufacturing. MST can offer customers access to parent company Biotronik’s Prospera neurostimulator. “Our intent is to get you through that valley of death with the reuse of these platforms,” he said.
Garrett Schumacher from Velentium stressed the company’s experience in product security, including cybersecurity. Vojkan Mihajlovic from imec described his firm’s ability to activate selective fibers in peripheral nerves. And Asheesh Divetia from Cirtec described Cirtec’s capabilities in IPGs, leads, custom electronics, thin films, laser processing, and micromachining.
