September 30, 2019 | The North American Neuromodulation Society recently announced that it will launch an Emerging Technology Forum on January 23, 2020 just prior to the NANS 2020 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, NV. The Forum is designed to provide an interactive and dynamic platform for startup and emerging neuromodulation firms. This event will also showcase new and innovative companies in the space.
The theme of the NANS 2020 Annual Meeting is Driving Innovation through Science and Evidence. Participants in the Forum will have the opportunity to build on that theme by presenting and sharing their unique work in a dynamic setting. NANS is inviting emerging neuromodulation companies to present their data as an elevator pitch to key opinion leaders and executives in the field with the opportunity to win a monetary prize. The Emerging Technology Showcase will be a key feature of the Forum. It will provide dedicated networking opportunities for attendees, including representatives from startup companies with limited capitalization and those from academic biomedical engineering programs presenting novel technologies.
The Abstract and Emerging Technology Committee will review each submission and score it based on potential application and relevance. Additionally, participants are required to prepare a slide presentation of no more than seven minutes on their abstract research. Only the top 12 abstracts selected by the Emerging Technology Committee will present at the Showcase. The selected presentations will be announced at the Forum following the introductory session. Companies must be present at this session to participate. The top 12 presenting companies will compete for a monetary award and designation of best in show.
