March 30, 2021 | Neurotech Reports, the publisher of Neurotech Business Report, announced that Murthy Simhambhatla, the president and CEO of SetPoint Medical, will keynote the Fourth Annual Bioelectric Medicine Forum on April 6, 2021. The event will take place via video conference, though Neurotech Reports plans to be back in New York City in 2022.
Simhambhatla took the helm of the Valencia, CA bioelectronic medicine firm in August 2018. He was previously the CEO of Evolvus and before that a senior vice president at Abbott. SetPoint last year received FDA breakthrough device designation for its VNS system to treat rheumatoid arthritis.
New entrepreneur presenters at this year’s event include Peter Schlecht, CEO of Braingrade, Anuj Bhardwaj, CEO of SecondWave Systems, Nicolas Vachicouras, CEO of Neurosoft Bioelectronics, and Balder Onarheim, CEO of Plato Science.
Other speakers at the 2021 event include Eric Van Gieson, program manager for DARPA’s ElectRx program, and Lorenzo Rossi, CEO of Newronika, and Cameron McIntyre, professor of biomedical engineering and neurosurgery at Duke University.
Other sessions will cover a range of technologies and indications for bioelectronic medicine, including applications in cardiovascular medicine, inflammation, gastrointestinal disorders, and many other clinical specialties.
