Neurotech Firms Showcase Innovation at 2026 LSI Conference

March 31, 2026 | The 2026 LSI USA conference, held in Dana Point, CA earlier this month, offered a dynamic platform for neurotech firms to demonstrate their latest advances and share insights with industry leaders, investors, and healthcare professionals. This year’s event underscored the rapid evolution of neurotechnology and its growing impact within the broader life sciences sector.

A session devoted to SetPoint Medical’s groundbreaking therapy for inflammatory disorders featured Juan-Pablo Mas, managing director of Action Potential Venture Capital, Brandon Rice, managing director of Piper Sandler, Zack Scott, general partner of Norwest Venture Partners, Josh Makower from Stanford Biodesign, and Ankit Shah from SetPoint. Scott, an early investor in SetPoint, said that he had a gut reaction when he first heard about the therapy since he had a family member with Crohn’s disease. Hew was familiar with many of the drawback of biologic therapies at the time. Makower, who was with New Enterprise Associates when that firm invested in SetPoint, said that with medical devices, you’re always looking for big market opportunities. “To offer a device solution that could be exceptionally cost effective in the long run and not require you to be on biologics was just really compelling,” he said.

In another session, former Axonics CEO Ray Cohen spoke to LSI CEO Scott Pantel. The session was entitled “One on One with Ray Cohen: The Inside Perspective from Three Years, Three Transactions, and $5 billion,” referencing three recent medtech exits that Cohen engineered. Cohen shared some little-known anecdotes, including how he got introduced to the implant technology by being a speaker at a medtech industry conference. “Axonics would never have happened had I not volunteered to speak at this conference,” he said.

Several pioneering companies took the stage to present innovations addressing neurological disorders, brain-computer interfaces, and next-generation neurostimulation therapies. Among the featured presenters were established leaders and emerging startups, each contributing unique perspectives and technologies to the neurotech landscape.

NeuralPulse presented its implant-embedded predictive control software for brain implants, initially focused on drug-resistant epilepsy. The system actively probes the brain with brief, controlled electrical pulses, estimates seizure risk in real time, and delivers targeted stimulation to prevent seizures before onset. The hardware-agnostic technology is designed for integration with implantable neuromodulation systems that both sense and stimulate.

UNEEG’s presentation highlighted its long-term EEG monitoring approach for epilepsy management, built around a subcutaneous implant and a data workflow aimed at making seizure burden and related patterns more objective over extended periods.

Sana Health CEO Richard Hanbury discussed the firm’s wearable audiovisual neuromodulation device, which uses patterned light and sound—paired with physiological monitoring—to support non-pharmacological approaches for pain, anxiety, and sleep.

Aneuvo presented its ExaStim non-invasive spinal stimulation platform, aimed at supporting neurorehabilitation and functional recovery for people living with spinal cord injury.

SynerFuse outlined the SynerFuse e-TLIF concept, which integrates spinal fusion hardware with neuromodulation at the time of surgery to address chronic low back and leg pain.

Neuronoff CEO Manfred Franke presented an update on its Injectrode platform—a minimally invasive, needle-delivered electrode approach intended to lower the procedural barrier for peripheral nerve stimulation. Franke discussed the company’s strategy of supporting other vendors’ IPGs and pursuing PMA-supplement applications for expedited regulatory approval.

Universal Brain’s presentation focused on its precision-psychiatry platform centered on EEG-based “neurotyping,” with the goal of stratifying depression and related conditions using objective brain-function measures.

ReVision Implant CEO Frederik Ceyssens presented the company’s Occular visual cortical prosthesis program, which uses implanted microelectrode arrays intended to stimulate the visual cortex to restore useful vision for people living with blindness.

Blackrock Neurotech’s CEO Marcus Gerhardt emphasized the company’s intracortical interface and neurophysiology toolchain—best known for Utah Array-based recording and stimulation—positioning the platform for both research use and clinical translation of high-resolution BCI capabilities.

Newronika discussed its adaptive DBS approach for Parkinson’s disease using sensing of neural biomarkers to adjust stimulation in real time with the aim of improving symptom control while limiting side effects.

Precisis outlined its EASEE system for drug-resistant epilepsy, a minimally invasive brain-stimulation approach placed beneath the scalp to modulate seizure networks without penetrating the skull.

Resonant Link described its wireless power and rapid recharging technology for implantable medical devices, positioning faster, more flexible charging as an enabler for next-generation bioelectronic implants.

ActivateNeuro CEO Jon Snyder, who founded Neuros Medical in 2008, described the company’s noninvasive neurotechnology platform with the potential to support functional recovery for people affected by stroke or spinal cord injury. By combining highdensity neuromuscular sensing, intelligent decoding, and adaptive stimulation, ActivateNeuro aims to help clinicians and innovators bring more personalized, datadriven rehabilitation experiences to patients.

NeuWire Medical is a medical device company transforming stroke recovery using closed-loop vagus nerve stimulation. The company’s ultra miniature, minimally invasive, integrated implantable VNS system pairs with sensored rehabilitation tools and automated triggering software to enhance neuroplasticity and restore motor function in chronic stroke patients allowing patient to integrate recovery with daily life. The company has raised about $70 million in non-dilutive research and development funding from NIH, DARPA, and other organizations. NeuWire’s closed-loop system is designed to deliver therapy real time— integrating recovery with life to maximize efficacy while enabling scalable, at-home.

SynchNeuro is developing a noninvasive, brain-based continuous glucose monitoring system that tracks blood glucose via analysis of neural signals. The company’s discreet sensor, worn behind the ear, also captures sleep quality and other physiological metrics to support ongoing health management. By offering a pain-free alternative to traditional glucose monitoring, SynchNeuro aims to improve convenience and adherence for people who need regular metabolic monitoring.

Overall, the 2026 LSI USA conference served as a showcase for the ingenuity and progress of neurotechnology firms, reinforcing their vital role in advancing brain health and transforming patient care. The event’s success highlights the importance of ongoing investment and interdisciplinary cooperation to bring groundbreaking neurotech solutions to market.
