October 31, 2014 | Neurotech Reports, the publisher of this newsletter, announced the winners of the 2014 Gold Electrode Awards. The awards were presented at the 2014 Neurotech Leaders Forum in San Francisco on October 20.
The Gold Electrode Award for Best New Product was presented to NeuroPace Inc. of Mountain View, CA for its RNS stimulation device. The device, which uses closed loop-stimulation to treat epilepsy, was approved by the FDA earlier this year.
The award for Most Promising Startup was presented to Saluda Medical Pty., a neuromodulation device startup based in Australia that is developing a closed-loop stimulation system to treat chronic low back pain.
The Award for Most Valuable Non-Profit was presented to the Cleveland FES Center. The award for Outstanding Financial Professional was presented to Juan-Pablo Mas and Imran Eba of Action Potential Venture Capital. The award for Neurotechnology Researcher of the Year was presented to Dustin Tyler of Case Western Reserve University for his work with sensory-enabled prostheses.
